Spend a relaxing afternoon on the Raquette River with a NYS Licensed Guide and Wild Center Naturalist. We’ll go over safety and paddling before we embark on an interpretive trip around the Oxbow, a unique, natural formation found in rivers around the world. Catch a glimpse of native wildlife and learn about the natural history of the Adirondacks. This trip is geared to all paddling skill levels. A ½ mile walk over rolling terrain is required to reach our launch site on the serene banks of the Raquette River. Children ages 4 through 15 must have at least 1 parent or guardian present for every 3 children. Museum admission is not included and must be purchased with the canoe trip. Register soon as space is limited.
Max Participants: 5 boats (each boat can accommodate 2-3 adults or 1-2 adults with 1-2 children)
Cost per Boat: $30/boat for members, $45/boat for non-members.
Details: Visitors must be registered by 12:15pm on the day of the canoe trip. Please plan to arrive to the Center by at least 12:30pm to accommodate your entry and allow your group enough time to walk the 1/3 mile to the river.
