Guided Sensory Walk with Adirondack Riverwalking

Sunday, October 8 from 10am to 12:30pm

Forest Bathing, translated from the Japanese Shinrin-Yoku, means immersing your senses in nature. Let us guide you on a unique nature walk, and invite you, through a series of brief activities, to open yourself to all the sights, sounds, smells and textures of an Adirondack forest. Reconnect with your sense of awe and wonder at the mystery and beauty of nature as you discover a wellness practice where relaxation and exploration meet. A playful family activity suitable for children 6 and up.

Certified Nature & Forest Therapy Guide Suzanne Weirich will lead you on this two and half hour journey. More than 30 years of research has shown that Forest Bathing relieves anxiety and stress, lowers blood pressure as well as improves our immune system's ability to fight infection, and even cancer. Please come prepared for a modest walk in the woods. The walk will begin from The Wild Center Great Hall. This trip runs rain or shine; if weather poses a safety issue, tickets will be refunded.
